I recently got referred by my coworker to download a mobile app tracking your location. It is called GoMyWayVA. It is a mobile app that is partnered with a number of northern Virginia organizations focused on helping people travel in the northern Virginia area. The app developer doesn’t seem to be the Virginia government, but the Virginia Department of Transportation is advertising its use. Using the app is pretty simple, you just put where you want to go and then you select the navigation option. Then, you can navigate using the built in navigation or Google maps. After the trip is over, go back to the GoMyWayVA app and click the end trip button. It then tells you if you’ve won coins for the trip.
