My cooking failure experience

When I was younger, I was convinced the more you seasoned something, the more tasty the food became. These were the days where I put a bunch of soy sauce on food during dinner. Anyways, there was one time where I cooked steaks for my godmother’s birthday for her, my mother, and I and I was pretty excited. These were also the days when I watched a ton of Food Network. If I recall correctly, I marinated the steak with soy sauce and also seasoned it with steak seasoning. After I cooked it on the stove top and ate it for dinner, I realized that it was way too salty. My mother and godmother were pretty nice about it, but that experience plus a time where I basically drowned my rice in soy sauce led me to the realization that seasoning, like most other things, is better in moderation.
